Gentlemen! Start your engines! 08/23/2011
This request is made at the beginning races, mostly automobile races. Just for a moment, imagine shortly after waking, even before you rise out of bed, you said to yourself that exact phrase using it as a metaphor or saying something similar, "Self! Start your day!" Say the words out loud right now. Do you feel a shift in your demeanor? What did saying the words out loud do to your attitude? Are you now ready to tackle the day or what's to come next? Mental preparation first thing in the morning will help set the tone of the day, especially in your business. As I may have mentioned, I'm part of a blog challenge where we must write and post daily during certain months of the year; the next formal challenge begins October 1, however, many of us who participated in July are continuing this month and next. It's been a marvelous way to practice and be confident in our writing skills with people from all over the world, plus spreading our message and what we do in our businesses. Also to that daily practice, I recently joined a 21-day meditation challenge offered by the Chopra Center; it's a way that I can take 20 minutes each day for me to connect with Source and, basically, my Self; also a great way to begin my day in the office. These two daily practices have helped center me, to remain in focus throughout the day so that I can accomplish everything what I consider necessary. Yesterday I completed an entire day of tasks effortlessly and easily without stressing over all there is yet to be done. My most proudest accomplishment was creating a PowerPoint slide that holds the main message of the training I'm developing for online and live workshop delivery. Adding to my plate, there is a marriage ceremony this Saturday between my youngest son and his beautiful bride-to-be. A few out-of-towners will begin to arrive tomorrow; more to arrive Thursday, my daughter and son-in-law who live 1,100 miles away among them. The celebration will be witnessed by over 200 friends and relatives. Yet, I completed a few household tasks as well. I am excited and I am calm, taking one step at a time and truly believing that saying "OK. Let's greet the day!" or "Bring it on!" in a positive light sets the tone for the remainder of my day. What I also feel helps with the confidence on the business and personal side is belonging to this mastermind group. Last session we discussed products and services which helped drill down to what it is I want to deliver to my followers. So, how will you greet the remainder of your day? What will you say tomorrow morning before rising? Where will you look to access the connection to Source and Self -- or to your business? I urge you to try a morning practice for the next five days; see what a difference it will make in your day, in your week. Also, find a group to join to where you receive the support and inspiration and encouragement to grow, especially a group where you can offer the same to other members within. Then let me know of your experience; I'd love to hear about it. Have a great day and Dream On! PeggyLee 6 Comments Indeed, the past 25 hours has been an amazing time with many great blessings unfolding. Last evening we had our Wednesday Circle. We talked about many topics ranging from the importance of having a business plan and what to include in it, to what values we hold, such as integrity, respect, and compassion, especially where our customers are concerned. Next week the plan is to discuss the homework assigned (this is a working mastermind group), the business profile, and the products and services we supply. The energy of the group was outstanding and that energy has spilled over into today. I wonder if that might be a revelation as to the time of day when a meeting of this type should be held? Have you been part of a group in the evening and/or morning where the energy lasted 36 hours or more? What did you accomplish? How was your mood? This morning I woke to the weather report that today would be "abundant sunshine." It clearly was. Have a wonderful day/evening depending on where you live! PeggyLee “Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadow.” ~Helen Keller Where on Earth did the time go? 08/10/2011
Oh my goodness, yes! Where had the time gone? Has it really been a month since we last visited? In short, the answer is "yes." But does that mean we've stopped being in business? No, of course not. The getting-to-know-you dynamic was in gear each and every day on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Plus, we've been busy with our own businesses, too. Read all about it by visiting PeggyLee's blog and Julia's blog. Today is our Wednesday Circle event. What's that? You don't know what that is? Well, sit back and I'll explain it to you. Wednesday Circle is the name given the mastermind group for entrepreneurs who are getting their online coaching practice off the ground, or in need of a pick-me-up. These entrepreneurs may be just like you; stuck, dejected, techno-challenged, etc. OK. This is beginning to sound like a sales-landing/squeeze page. It's not. I'm just excruciatingly energized today that my excitement and enthusiasm is showing. I began today by listening to a recorded teleseminar that I was unable to attend. It was with Michele Scism, The Results Lady, and Robin Tramble, The Empowerment Diva. There were many topics of discussion, however, one sticks with me: Thoughts are Energy. Positive thoughts emit massive amounts of energy, while negative ones will sap you dry. I decided that today my thoughts will be positive -- not paying attention to that little thing that's been bothering me for days and nights -- and what a difference that makes! Now, imagine if you were able to capture that positive energy each and every week. Now imagine each and every week you'd have the support and encouragement added to that positive energy. What could you accomplish with that type of support? How many of your dreams would come true? Where might you be in your personal and professional life? As I said earlier, this is not a pitch. However, if you are serious in receiving support, inspiration, tools to help you grow you and your business, click on the Wednesday Circle tab above and get started TODAY. If you have any questions, please email us. Do me a favor? Next Wednesday send me an email to let me know what you accomplished over these next seven days. I'd be very interested in hearing from you. Thanks and have a wonderful and productive day! PeggyLee What happens when an energy shift is felt? 07/14/2011
There had been a definite energy shift occurring the 13th day of July in the year of twenty-eleven. The movement actually began late the evening prior. Our Coaches Circle Mastermind group call had ended a few minutes after its scheduled time. After these calls, Julia and discuss how the call went; did it begin as scheduled; did the call run smoothly; what could be done better; what was done brilliantly. It is important when you venture into a project with someone that mutual admiration and respect are present. Julia and I are very blessed to have that type of relationship with the added bonus of friendship as topping. Before we knew it, the time fast-forwarded an hour and twenty minutes! Oh my stars! We were tired after such a wonderful day, especially since we both were up earlier than usual. But the tired we felt was a good kind of tired; one filled with success and accomplishment in assisting our group members. How do we know this? They told us so. Julia and I said our final “goodbyes” and “goodnights” and were separately on our way to the remainder of our evening. Not more than 15 minutes passed when my home phone rang. I recognized the name and answered it. Mind you, my bedtime these days is anywhere between 9 and 10 pm. It was my past director of my now-past direct sales company. It’s been a very long times since we’ve spoken, so fast-forward another sixty-three minutes! My gosh! The energy that filled my space was incredible! But I couldn’t help to think the shift occurred because I let go of something else – something I had been grappling and wrestling with. However, once I was able to finally push that situation aside it allowed all the high-energy conversations to happen and people from my past to come forward. Clearing away the muck and clutter from your life and your business can open up new doors, new relationships, offering more opportunity in ways unimaginable. I must tell you, it takes a lot of strength and courage because of the fear that’s embedded inside the action of setting things aside. What can a mastermind or accountability group do for you? It can help remove the weights holding down you and your business. It can set you free and allow more prosperity and opportunity into your life and business ventures. Once again, I encourage you to participate in a type of group such as this one; and if not this mastermind group, then choose another. The Ultimate Blog Challenge I’m enrolled in is this type of offering; as there are hundreds of others just like you who are seeking the same results. See, they come in all shapes and sizes. Shop around. Have a great day and Dream On! PeggyLee “Accountability breeds response-ability.” ~Stephen R. Covey I gotta say, the last 10 days have been phenomenal!! Once again I proved that if I focus, get quiet, and go within my self, there is wisdom waiting to be transcribed from my brain, through my fingertips, via the ink pen or letters on the keyboard , that character after character, display before me. Words turn into sentences which, in turn, form paragraphs; and before I know it, an article is written that potentially THOUSANDS and perhaps MILLIONS will read!! So what are you doing in the way of being true to yourself -- your business? There are many ways to hold ourselves accountable, yet, at times we seem to have difficulty in doing so. I knew I could write every day, and I do; but sometimes not taking that next step to turn the content into something valuable for my clients, my list, or even for myself. You may be aware that I’m currently in a 31-day blog challenge, where it is encouraged – and supported by hundreds – to write (and publish) a little something each day. The content is solely up to the author; however, helpful hints are received daily to assist those who might be a bit stuck for an idea. The point of working in a group, albeit inside our separate businesses, brings about the accountability-answerability-responsibility-liability issue (that’s a mouthful!) in a softer, much nicer way of working toward our dreams and goals – TOGETHER. You never have to go it alone. This group of the Coaches Circle Mastermind was developed using that concept. If you’ve read our blog or any other of our pages, you may be familiar with a saying I have: Just because you’re in business for yourself doesn’t mean you have to be in business by yourself. (Feel free to use this quote; however, I’d appreciate the acknowledgment of such.) It’s down-right hard work for us solo-preneurs to establish and run a business. But if we have the support, expertise, and experience of our fellow-preneurs to fall back on, our business can grow in profitability and so can we. I encourage you to look for a group (mastermind or not; this one or another) that will hold you accountable, responsible, and liable in answer to your dreams, goals, and perhaps your business plan. Now… What will you do today to make that accountability work for you? Dream On! PeggyLee “Avoid the trap of assuming that you, alone, have to make every decision you face. It's not your job to make all the right calls…your job is to make sure all the right calls get made.” ~ Eric Harvey Oftentimes I am stopped in my tracks when my feet won’t move ahead until I clear the path in front of me. That feat can entail many solutions: moving things off to the side until I can get to them at a later time; using a virtual machete to cut my way through the denseness, forging ahead; taking a few steps back to ponder the situation; or perhaps turning around and totally walking away from the heap altogether! Let’s examine the pros and cons of each scenario. Moving stuff off to the side. The pro: allowing yourself time to contemplate the situation. The con: you risk a replay by putting off the inevitable, increasing the chance of the situation’s recurrence. Forging ahead. The pro: donning a helmet you put your head down and get in the game. The con: you run the risk of missing key pieces that surround you and could potentially aid your success. Stepping back. The pro: removes you from the heap so you can see the whole picture, giving you time to assess the situation. The con: thinking on your feet will not apply here. Walking away. The pro: problem solved. The con: growth not gained in learning how to deal with unwanted situations. As I went through the above list, every contra reason could be applied to each of the scenarios. I’m curious: What might your pros and cons be to the situations listed above? I’d love to hear them. Dream On! PeggyLee ♫♫ Taking care of business, everyday! Taking care of business, every way! ♫♫ ~Bachman Turner Overdrive Your Indepedence Day is Approaching 07/03/2011
Tomorrow the United States will celebrate the anniversary of its independence from the British rule. The countrymen at that time knew it was important for the New America to stand on its own, albeit uncertain as to how it would all work out. The process started with a thought that turned into a vision; the desire to succeed stirred fires within the soul. Soon resources appeared; the dream began to take shape and manifest. Can you see the correlation with your business? The country is still growing; its continued development spurned by many individuals coming to its aid for success! Can you see this correlation with your business? The vision of one nation under God was made by one, yet heralded and supported by many patriots. Are you ready for your independence day? Are you ready for it in your business? What doctrine have you put in place? Who is there to support you? A mastermind or accountability group offers that support and guidance necessary to succeed in your business and gain in your personal growth. Have a great day and Dream On! PeggyLee p.s. Coaches Circle Mastermind has a Try-It-You’ll-Like-It program available to see if an accountability group will work for you. Check it out! Do you love your business or do you see it as a chore? Perhaps you visualize it as a loving chore! Sometimes, though, you get bogged down by what is supposed to be completed that tasks become a "need-to-get-done" item and the enthusiasm wanes bigtime! [Sidebar: A friend once told me that she replaced the word "chore" with "project" in her vocabulary to increase the likelihood the action would be accomplished. I will teach this concept of positive perspective in my upcoming workshop and in the Coaches Circle Mastermind groups.] Recently I had been reminded to do things out of love, not need. Nearly every step forward since then has been borne out of asking the question, "Are you taking this action out of love or out of need?" The results included stopping myself from sending emails that might have proven to be potentially hazardous to my personal or professional relationships. But what also had occurred was an increase of positive creativity! All sorts of ideas came to mind for topics to present during mastermind calls, blogs, newsletters, and workshops! Imagine using this concept on your business! Ask yourself this question: "Am I taking this action out of love for another or to satisfy my own needs that require attention?" I would love to hear your comments and witness your results. Dream On! PeggyLee p.s. If you're interested in giving your business detailed attention or if it needs a jumpstart, consider registering for one of the Coaches Circle Mastermind groups. Oh, and do it for yourself, too! Click here to sign up. How many times have you said this to yourself? How often have you heard it spoken to you? What was your response? No matter the project, even if it's been done before with ease, certain tasks can be daunting or overwhelming to finish. Did you know that when the weight is too much it is okay to give yourself permission to move on to a different project or task? Well, it is! What should not be overlooked, however, is the reason why you are not having success. Be honest and look as deep as necessary. For instance, after publishing my second book I received an unsolicited call from a marketing firm promising to give the book the high visibility it needs to get to my niche for a sum of money I was unprepared and unwilling to fork over. But what I told the unsuspecting gentleman is that I wasn't able TO pay for the program at "this" time. He called me back a week later and the week after that and the week after that! Having Caller ID I let his calls roll over to voice mail. Several weeks passed and I finally picked up the phone when he called again. I began to make every excuse in the book and he came back with every response in the book! I realized that if I kept up with the excuses, I was keeping myself from moving forward, unable to let go of the situation. So, I took a breath and said, "You know what? The reason I am not willing to pay that money is because i just don't want or need your service." Badda-bing-badda-boom! I no longer wasted the solicitor's time or mine with a product I didn't need. The most important thing I got out of being honest with myself had been peace of mind. The worry of what I was going to say the next time he called was eliminated. Just the worry of the guy not calling back was a relief! I could cite many other examples like the one above; however, it's time for you to think a few of your own. What can you do to overcome overwhelm?
